Melcotel™ hotel control system from Mitsubishi Electric gets recognition from Building Controls Industry Association

Mitsubishi Electric has welcomed the recognition of the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) for its Melcotel™ hotel control system, which was shortlisted in the technical advance of the year category in the BCIA Awards 2012.

The event brings together the very best of the UK’s controls industry to celebrate the companies, innovations and people that are achieving the highest standards and driving this dynamic industry forward.

“The whole development of our Melcotel smart control system for hotels aims to focus attention on the value that appropriate controls can bring to cost and energy management for businesses,” explained Sebastian Desmottes, controls expert for Mitsubishi Electric. “When we saw the calibre of all the entries, we knew we had proved ourselves simply by making the shortlist and whilst we were disappointed not to have won, we take great pride in the recognition of our peers in the Controls Industry.”

Mitsubishi Electric’s Melcotel™ controller can help hotels reduce the energy needed to run their air conditioning and has demonstrated a 40 per cent reduction in energy during a six month trial at Premier Inn’s city centre site in Leicester.
