In Order to improve London office space for a number of businesses, Lenta announces Planet Positive Certification

The Foundry Business Centre in Southwark, housing 35 businesses, owned by Lenta, will be working in collaboration with Planet Positive to run an occupier engagement programme at the period building, to encourage participation in becoming more sustainable.

The engagement of independent businesses located at The Foundry Business Centre, where Planet Positive is also based, will teach a number of people the importance of improving on sustainability and the benefits it brings, including cost savings.

The programme will have an impact on all 35 licensees, 275 staff at the building and Lenta Business Centres as a company, showing how easy and effective adopting sustainability measures can be.

Commenting on becoming Planet Positive Certified, Robert Levy, Lenta Managing Director, said: “We’ve already taken steps towards improving sustainability in our portfolio by ensuring we’re actively recycling, and installing motion sensor lighting in some of our buildings, but we’re really excited to see what Planet Positive can help us to improve on. We understand the benefits of being more sustainable and are hoping all the businesses we house at The Foundry Business Centre will engage in this programme with us.”

Going forward, Lenta will be taking action by working on a number of steps to improve their social responsibility, including reducing levels of energy consumption, reviewing their procurement and engaging key suppliers. The occupier engagement programme will kick off with invitations to all businesses at the Foundry to participate in Planet Positive’s freely available 7-days to Sustainability programme. This programme offers sustainability advice to SMEs to get them started on their green journeys.

Following on from this, Planet Positive will be convening monthly Green Team meetings, to establish areas of improvement throughout the building, and maximise ongoing engagement from other businesses.

Steve Malkin, CEO of Planet Positive comments: “Planet Positive is delighted that Lenta Business Centres are taking an important step towards improving their sustainability. Planet Positive firmly believes that businesses can be socially responsible and sustainable, and still be successful. We are delighted that Lenta Business Centres share this philosophy. In order to make reductions, Lenta need engagement from the independent businesses located at The Foundry Business Centre, which we’re really looking forward to helping them work on.”
