John Brash Shingles Used As A Roofing and Cladding Solution For Adventure Centre İn Hampshire

John Brash shingles have been used as a roofing and cladding solution for The Runways End Youth Adventure Centre which is being developed in eight acres of woodland near Aldershot in Hampshire. The Western Red Cedar shingles from John Brash have been specified for the roofs and walls of a range of new buildings at the £6.1m eco-friendly outdoor adventure centre by architects at Hampshire County Council.

Environmental sustainablity is central to the new development, which is a partnership project between the Scout Association, Hampshire County Council and Rushmoor Borough Council. It will be used to host outdoor challenges and environmental activities for young people from schools, youth groups and other organisations across Hampshire. Other eco-friendly measures at the centre include a biomass boiler and a rainwater harvesting system.

The Western Red Cedar Shingles have been used on all of the buildings including a residential unit for up to 50 people, a multi-purpose meeting hall, a canoe store and boilerhouse.

The main contractor was Morgan Sindall and Elliotts Premier Roofing Ltd of Eastleigh installed the shingles.

John Brash Western Red Cedar Shingles are the Blue Label grade which ensures that all shingles and shakes are made from cedar that is 100% heartwood, 100% edge grain and 100% clear.
