Stotherm Mineral With Stolit Render Specified for Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury

Designed with flowing organic curves to reflect the hills around the town, the fly tower for the new Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury forms a dramatic focal point for the building. StoTherm Mineral has been used extensively on the theatre in Aylesbury, designed by Arts Team, the specialist arts division of RHWL.

The rear wall of the building uses the StoTherm Mineral external wall insulation system, ensuring the structure achieves the required U Values without compromising its aesthetic ambition. The emphatic off white finish is brought about by the use of the Stolit acrylic, crack-resistant render, allowing a seamless sharp finish.

StoTherm Mineral finished with Stolit render was specified in this instance as a cost-effective alternative to a natural stone finish. It was applied to particle board panels on a Metsec frame.

StoTherm Mineral is a highly durable external wall insulation system with mineral fibre boards, providing unrivalled fire protection and high thermal performance. It can be used with an adhesive or mechanical fixing and, depending on the fixing method specified, can solve the problem of uneven substrates in refurbishment projects without movement joints.
