World?s Largest Online Engineering Library Launched
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) has today launched the most extensive online library of engineering information in the world.
The new platform, ICE Virtual Library, hosts the Institution’s journal and book content back to 1836.
The online resource will provide a sophisticated, fully searchable platform for both practising engineers and researchers to access the content published by the ICE over three centuries.
Speaking at the launch, ICE head of publishing Leon Heward-Mills said, “With increasing pressure on engineers’ time, ICE Virtual Library forms an indispensible and trusted resource, providing authoritative best practice information at the click of the mouse.
“Our new range of ebooks will allow engineers new ways of accessing our published content, and a range of new purchasing options – such as the ability to buy individual book chapters – show that we’re continuing to respond to feedback from the civil engineering community.”
The ICE Virtual Library will host the prestigious ICE Proceedings suite of journals, as well as Géotechnique, the CESMM3 price database and the new ICE Manuals Series, including ICE Manual of Construction Materials, published this month.
