FE Peacock works With Luminus On The Redevelopment Of The Grand Cinema in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire

The former Grand Cinema, located on Great Whyte in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire, had been disused for some time. The site has been redeveloped to provide a library learning centre and a community information centre as well as 22 apartments and 2 houses.

The redevelopment by FE Peacock on behalf of Luminus will provide homes and facilities that will benefit the community for many years to come. The housing meets the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 – some 25 per cent above the standard building regulations specification for energy performance – which highlights the commitment of FE Peacock and Luminus to creating affordable, well-built and energy-efficient homes.

Chan Abraham, chief executive of Luminus Group, the Eastern region’s premier housing provider, has congratulated Bourne-based builder FE Peacock on its good work in the development of the site of the Grand Cinema. Chan Abraham said: “FE Peacock is a local company with an excellent reputation. It was a pleasure to work with FE Peacock, arising from which this site will now have a new lease of life providing a modern and dynamic facility for the local community.”

FE Peacock managing director Karl Hick commented: “We were pleased to work with Luminus on the redevelopment of the Grand Cinema. The building will provide local residents with much needed facilities and good quality, energy-efficient housing.”

FE Peacock operates throughout the East of England and East Midlands and has particular expertise as a building contractor working with housing associations, housing providers and local authorities.
