Miller Construction Receive Seven Considerate Constructor Scheme Awards

Considerate Constructors is a national initiative which aims to improve the image of the construction industry by encouraging best practice beyond statutory requirements and only the very best performing sites are recognised annually at the awards. 8,500 sites were audited by the scheme and only the top scoring 7.5% (640) were eligible to receive an award.

Sites which sign up to the Considerate Constructors scheme are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice which covers areas including consideration for the public, environmental impact, cleanliness, being a good neighbour, as well as being responsible, respectful, safe and accountable.

Miller Construction has collected seven accolades at the national Considerate Constructor Scheme (CCS) awards. An associate Member of the Scheme, Miller Construction was presented with four gold, and three silver awards. In addition, the site team from Hartlepool College of Further Education collected the coveted accolade of Runner Up to the Most Considerate Site, ranking it in the top 0.2% of all construction sites in the UK registered with the scheme.

Miller Construction received Gold awards for Barnsley College, Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine, Clydeview Academy and Hartlepool College of Further Education. Silver awards were presented to Stoke-on-Trent 6th Form College, Woodloes and Ridgeway School and Hartlepool 6th Form College.

Chris Webster, Chief Executive, Miller Construction, said: “We are delighted to have collected seven accolades at this year’s award ceremony. To secure the most gold and silver awards ever won by Miller Construction is a tremendous achievement and illustrates the quality of our sites the length and breadth of the country. Six of the seven sites presented with an award are learning environments, further demonstrating our ability to provide first class educational facilities fit for the 21st Century.

“CCS is an important body to help change the perceptions of the construction industry and is a good example of the industry taking voluntary action to promote good practice. The presentation of these awards is an illustration of the professionalism of our site teams and recognition of the quality work we undertake every day for our clients.”
