On Site Sale Of Cranes, Plant and Machinery Assets on 10th May
With manufacturing of new equipment still slow to respond to the demands of the market, prices of nearly-new plant is still holding strong and sellers were getting good returns. Euro Auctions have been appointed to conduct a one day on site sale on behalf of Fox Brothers Plant Hire and Fox Brothers Crane Hire in Blackpool, Lancashire, on the 10th May 2011.
This follows the recent Euro Auctions sale at Leeds during April again broke records on all counts when the hammer went down with a post sale total of £24.1 million worth of assets sold in three days. That’s an average of £500,000 worth of plant and equipment sold every half-hour of the sale. The Leeds sale recorded the second highest number of registered bidders (with the highest being the last sale in January), but it was the number of buyers that broke the previous record being 10% up on the previous sale. The online interest from internet buyers at the Leeds sale was the highest ever recorded with over 41% of bidding taking place online, and 26% of all assets bought by those online bidders.
Jonnie Keys of Euro Auctions comments: “Good second-hand equipment in the UK is highly sought after, but it is not in plentiful numbers with owners hanging on to machines for longer than was previously the norm. This has the effect of price levelling across the market, strengthening prices of late-used and nearly-new equipment, with the strongest rallying in the 12 to 24 month class which is trading for good money at auction. At this sale UK buyers were responsible for purchasing 41% of all assets by value, and made up 58% of the total number of registered buyers”.
The 10th May sale of over 500 general plant and machinery assets will also include various fleet vehicles, tractors, site dumpers, various backhoe excavators, telehandlers, tracked and wheeled excavators, crushers and screeners, assorted low loaders and trailers, tractor units and tippers, as well as a selection of small tools.
