ISG Completes Seventh Fast-track Refurbishment Project For Vıllage Hotels Leisure Operator

Part of a major investment and rebranding programme by the VILLAGE Hotels leisure operator of a number of its De Vere hotels across the UK, ISG has built upon its existing relationship with the hotel group to secure a major share of this new workload. ISG is nearing completion on its seventh fast-track refurbishment project for the leisure group over the last 12 months, with a combined value of around £9 million.

ISG has already successfully delivered complex phased refurbishment projects at existing VILLAGE Hotels in Newcastle, Bury, Cheadle and Dudley. Each of these schemes involved the strip out, reconfiguration and high quality fit out of a single floor of guest accommodation, carried out whilst the hotels remained operational.

Projects at the VILLAGE Swindon, the VILLAGE St David’s near Chester and latterly at the VILLAGE Herons' Reach Blackpool have all seen the comprehensive refurbishment and upgrade of existing facilities. The exercise was instrumental to the rebranding of these hotels from De Vere and De Vere venues to VILLAGE Hotels. In addition to the carefully phased refurbishment of guest rooms, the hotels’ restaurant, bar and leisure facilities have also undergone a £multi-million makeover, and at VILLAGE Herons' Reach Blackpool, ISG has refurbished the Pro-Shop, created a new Starbucks Coffee House and is currently installing a heated outdoor swimming pool.

Additionally, the contractor has secured two further projects with parent company De Vere Group in Scotland and Birmingham. Working at the five star luxury Cameron House hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond, ISG is reconfiguring and converting existing accommodation to create six new guest bedrooms and refurbishing conference facilities in a £1.2 million project. In Birmingham, ISG will be appointed to the £1.2 million refurbishment and fit out of two floors of the Colmore Gate building, to provide high specification meeting and conference accommodation.

Jonathan Kell, ISG’s regional managing director, commented: "Forging strong and mutually beneficial relationships with our clients is incredibly important in generating repeat business opportunities and this is typified by our track record with VILLAGE Hotels and De Vere Group. ISG has delivered three major new build hotels for the operator over the past four years, alongside a host of refurbishment and rebranding projects across the operator’s UK property portfolio.”
