Exova names Key Supplier by MoD
Recognised for the quality of its work by being named on the UK Ministry of Defence’s Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS) is none other than Exova, the world’s largest dedicated testing group.
The Ministry’s latest Framework Agreement for Technical Support (FATS) includes Exova as a supplier for 20 specialist fields, known as Narrow Capability Areas. These include metals and metal matrix composite technology, materials research, marine vehicles and rail transport.
Exova will be a supplier on the FATS framework until April 2014 following a six month competitive tender exercise by the MoD. A number of Exova services may be called on including those serving sectors in aerospace, fire safety technology, general engineering and energy.
Tim Cornes, head of Exova’s General Engineering division, said: “This agreement further demonstrates our capability to support customers operating at the cutting edge of design and manufacturing where the need for the highest levels of safety, quality and performance is paramount.“We have a proud track record of meeting government Defence needs around the world and we look forward to supporting Britain’s requirements in the same way.”
The FATS agreement has been developed to enable fast and efficient procurement of technical support in ‘the provision of applied technical knowledge’ and includes technical studies, project support and engineering support.
Exova specialises in testing across key industry sectors from food and pharmaceuticals to aerospace, oil and gas, fire, engineering and construction.
